Mountaineering has always been a hobby of many who have been adventurous and venturesome. It is a sport that involves walking, hiking, backpacking and climbing the mountain. However, one need not only show the desire but also gain the basic knowledge on techniques developed for mountain safety and should also is physically fit for the task. It has become a popular sport throughout the world. It is a refreshing experience and gives you firsthand experience on overcoming physical obstacles thus allowing you to discover your endurance and limitations. There are many institutions that train and prepare you for mountain climbing. Adventure sports enthusiast can learn various techniques to be implemented while climbing.
Although, a majority of the mountain climbers till date are men, there are some remarkable women who have successfully completed this task and proven to be equally strong and determined. It is extremely difficult an adventure for women because they are generally weaker, gentler and fragile than men and they have their own physical limitations. With new advanced techniques and tools that are being introduced for this adventure sport women are finding it easier to complete this humungous task.
You might come across many dangers associated with mountain climbing. The temperature fluctuates often and can range from sub zero to really hot temperatures. It is essential that the female climber is well acclimatized to the weather conditions before she starts off her venture. You need to make a thorough check of all the necessary equipments that has to be with you at all times while you perform the task of climbing the hostile mounts. These equipments may involve tools like crampons, ice axe, safety harness and a rope. Before starting your own venture it is wise to have a look at DVD's that show videos of female athletes climbing the mountains. This is a fantastic coaching tool and prepares you well beforehand. Visual aids work much better especially in women because they are better visual learners. Another way that helps you to an extent is to video tape yourself and record your moves. Now playback and see if the movements you are doing is right or not.
You must learn breathing techniques. You might acquire physical strength while without mental strength one just cannot perform to his potential.
